Mesa Verde. Spruce Tree & Balcony House.

Yesterday was a long drive in, followed by a clear night and a campfire, and today is our first full day in Mesa Verde!  We got up early to explore.

First we went to Spruce Tree House.  It was self guided, but informative and fun.  It’s the best preserved cliff dwelling at the park.  Then we went to Balcony House for an hour long tour.  They call it an “adventurous” tour because we had to clime up and down 32ft ladders down the side of a cliff to get in and out.  The views from the ladders were beautiful, as long as you don’t look up.  🙂
