As soon as we got to our hostel we were struck by our amazing view of Sacre Couer. How lucky are we!?
We didn’t really have any particular plans, so we headed down to the Eiffel Tower. It is beautiful… But they hung a big soccer ball in the center of it. Apparently there is a big tournament soon, and everyone is excited except for us. It’s okay.
We also got dinner at a little restaurant just off to the side of Sacre Couer, tucked in a nice shady corner under a big leafy tree. The patio was very charming. I got a beef gnocchi dish, prepared as a stew, and Becky got a pretty straight forward pasta dish with red sauce – which we never have at home.
It was a leisurely day, for sure. We look forward to the next two weeks!
